Recycling

The other day when a good friend of mine asked after an old girlfriend, I miscontrued it to mean he was having second thoughts and cautioned him against it. He responded that he would never recycle a girlfriend.

Evidently, recycling is de rigueur when it comes to Israeli politics. No sooner had the scandal plagued Israeli PM, Ehud Olmert, announced his intention to resign then who should call for a snap election, but Binyamin "Bibi" Netanyahu (doesn't he sound so American?!) who had to resign himself when his dodgy dealings came to the light. Even Ehud Barak, a former Israeli PM, and now Israel's current defence minister, was plagued by scandal during his prime ministerial tenure. One hopes that the current Israeli foreign minister, Tzipi Livni goes on to become the next Israeli PM because she's commited to Palestinian peace process unlike Bibi and what's more she seems to be an honest politician. (a bit of an oxymoron I know) and has definitely not been recycled.
