They can, but will they
According to the Declaration on the Framework for an OAU Response to Unconstitutional Changes of Government signed in Lomé, Togo in 2000 and endorsed by the Zimbabwe Government, the AU can legally recognise Morgan Tsvirangai as Zimbabwe's head of state. The AU leaders are due to meet in Sharm el-Sheikh for a summit so will the fact that the law is on their side encourage Jakaya Kikwete, the current Chairman of the AU to do the right thing? Imperialist Robert has already started to exert pressure on his fellow members, via his mouthpiece - will they succumb?
